Dance In Line

Rob Fowler is one of the most respected persons in today’s line dance scene, Rob has made some very big decisions’ one of those decisions is to bring out his own free on line magazine.
Could this be what we have all been waiting for? A free mag run by one of the most respected persons involved with line dance. At first glance it does push all the right buttons and could well be the saviour of line dance as we know. The most interesting point being, Rob’s intension to introduce a syllabus, not an easy task to take on by a long chalk.
Providing the completed syllabus is agreed with by other responsible people and approved by a recognised organisation like the B.D.C the foundations could then be built to getting approval for the Olympic Games something Ballroom & Latin has just got after many years of hard work.
The importance of a recognised syllabus would bring welcome changes to line dance and rid it of most disagreements we are experiencing now. It could well bring back lots of disillusioned teachers who like me got sick and tired of the same old bickering and pointless debates of a none recognised dance form which was after all designed for fun.
Getting back to the mag, you could be forgiven for thinking ‘its ok but a bit me me’ there is a lot of ads most about the Masters. This is the first edition and like they say ‘Great Oaks From Little Acorns Grow’ and I have a feeling this magazine will grow from strength to strength and receive the recognition it deservers bringing news of all events including country, new dances and a good dose of common sense and its FREE!
I was delighted to be asked to contribute to this magazine and look forward to sending in a few country revues and personal thoughts. It is time to look at the past and learn from our mistakes and move forward in a positive way instead of pointless debates of the same old which doesn’t do anything for line dance.
Look out the rest Rob’s magazine could well prove to be the very best.
